PBS Digital Premiere: WTBR’s Jamal Ademola Directs "Threads of Legacy"

House of Aama: Threads of Legacy makes its digital premiere today, July 15th, as part of the third season of In The Making, a documentary short series produced for the long-running PBS television program American Masters. 

Directed by Jamal Ademola, the film delves into acclaimed fashion label House of Aama’s spiritual approach to fashion, anchored in personal archives and Black folkways. The film culminates with the New York Fashion Week debut of the brand’s "Sun Records" collection—an homage to House of Aama co-founder Akua Shabaka’s late father, a prominent figure in the 1970s Free Jazz scene in LA.
